Connecticut Magazine Releases Experts’ Picks + Reader’s Choice List for 2015

Every year, Connecticut Magazine comes out with a comprehensive list called Reader’s Choice where people from across the state can vote for their favorite restaurants. In tandem, they also publish an Experts’ Picks list that is crafted by food writers, food critics, bloggers, cookbook authors, and this year even a former restaurant owner. Well, we were honored this year to be a part of the election process as two of the Experts! The resulting list is one that pays equal weight to all the restaurants throughout the state, not just in New Haven, Fairfield, or Hartford Counties. In particular, we were very happy with this list because so many of our favorite spots were chosen as top picks in the state. Congratulations to all the winners!

You Vote: Connecticut Magazine Looking for Top CT Eats in 2015 Edition

Best of Connecticut 14 15

It’s that time of year again when Connecticut Magazine puts out a call for votes to determine the best food in the state. Thanks to awesome people like you, Fairfield County swept the contest last year racking up votes as the most awarded county in 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd place. Yeah, you and the 203 are awesome like that!

This year it looks like some spots outside the 203 are getting some well-deserved attention, which is great to see! Sometimes with contests like these people tend to vote for a restaurant that is really well known, but not necessarily the best, so we’d love to see the underdogs, holes in the wall, and secret hot spots across the state make the cut!

Two Chefs, a Food Critic, and Farmer Named to Connecticut Magazine’s 40 Under 40 List for 2014

Each year, Connecticut Magazine works on creating a list (with the help of readers) of 40 people who are the “Best and brightest among Generation Next.”  On the “40 Under 40” list you’ll find producers, directors, activists, musicians, teachers, motivational speakers and even some recognition for the culinary world in CT.

First up is everybody’s favorite food reviewer, Daym.  You might remember Daym Patterson from his hilariously awesome videos where he’d review some burger joints like Plan B on his YouTube Channel, Daym Drops.  And, yes, that led him to land his own TV show on Travel Channel called “Best Daym Takeout.”  Awesomeness!
