CT Food News: over 30 things to do, eat + drink for the next two weeks! – 9/11/15

So, people: chill. Summer goes until September 22, so stop saying that summer’s over. And, with the crazy amount of events, deals, special events, brunches, and beer goodness, it’s clear that summer’s alive and well. This is really an amazing list this week and we hope that you get to do even do a 1/4 of the things that we’ve planned out for you here. As always, help us spread the word, pass this along, and if you’re making a reservation or learn about something great because of us, let the restaurant or organizers know.

CT Food News: Food Trucks, Tastings, Fairs, Cowboys, Openings + CT Beer – 8/21/15

This week’s gonna be a humongo news post because we’ll be away next week in Cape Cod and Portland, checking out the food and drinking scene, checking out lighthouses by bike, and just chilling. So, we’ve gone ahead and stuffed all the great stuff going on and news here in the 203 and beyond into this here post. As always, thanks for reading!

8/21 Pimpinella will be tearing down the rooftop beer garden at Bobby Q’s in Westport starting at 9 pm. Come for some bbq and brews and soak up the summer air.

8/22 A five-course “Nose to Tail” farm dinner from Chef William Carbone of Dish Restaurant will take place right at the Killam & Bassette Farmstead. The meal is $100 dollars with all of the proceeds going to the Judy Lynch Memorial Scholarship Fund which goes to a Glastonbury senior based on community service and work ethic.  Continue reading

7/16 Rizzuto’s Oyster Bar & Restaurant in Westport has live music on Thursdays from 8-11. This week’s featured artist is Carlos De Castro.

Philippine Chicken Adobo Tacos and Korean Short Rib Tacos at HAPA Food Truck7/16-18 What’s HAPAning this weekend? Well, HAPA will be at Alive @ Five from 4:30-8:30 and at 141 Washington Street in SoNo from 10:30-12:30. Then, on Friday, they’ll be at 177 Broad @ Indeed in Stamford from 12-3, then at The Beer Garden @ Shippan Landing from 4:30-8:45. And, wrapping up the weekend, they’ll be at Mill River Park for the Party in the Park from 3-7 on Saturday.

7/10-11 The Riverfest Food Truck Festivals going down on Friday and Saturday from 11-10 with Happy Hour going down from 4-8. On hand will be more than two food trucks and restaurants who are ready to feed your need including Cheese Street Grille, Toasted, Streat Italiano, Maui Wowie, Bear’s Smokehouse, Mobile Mardi Gras, New Haven Pizza Truck, Four Flours Baking Company, and Ponce Pina Colada.

5/29 Celebrate the indie spirit and don’t miss the Indie Gala: charity Shindig that starts at 7! There will be cocktails, noms, and music for just $39 online or $50 at the door.

Holy crap, there’s a lot of stuff going on, tons of news to share, ways to help your community, and keg-loads of beer related goodness! Well, let’s just get down to it, right?

3/10-3/17 Parallel Post in Trumbull is kicking things Irish style with a Corned Beef Sandwich that features sliced house cured corned beef, stone ground mustard, Gruyère, all served on peasant rye bread for $9. They will also have an Ox Hollow Shepherd’s Pie with sautéed ground beef, seasonal veggies, and truffle mashed potatoes for $17. And, yes, you can drink too with the Irish Breathalyzer Test that features Godiva, Creme de Menthe, and Vodka for $8.

3/14 Stop by the Westport Farmers’ Market at Gilbertie’s for the final market of the winter season. They’ll be back for more starting on May 21 at their usual stomping grounds, so get ready.
