Westport Farmers’ Market Releases Chef Demo Schedule for Summer 2016 Season

3 Jun
Co-founder and chef, Tony Rosenfeld of b. good

Last year we saw how a kickass burger is made right at WFM!

At the Westport Farmers’ Market, you can do a helluva lot more than just shop for the freshest farm-to-market foods and meats . . . there’s always something fun going down. And, specifically, if you come by from 10:15-11 on Thursdays, you’ll catch Fairfield County chefs demoing a dish that you can learn to make yourself. The cool thing? You can pick up the ingredients right there at the market and make it that day when you get home for din din. Continue reading

Pho Pun-Free Review of Mecha Noodle Bar in SoNo

And, when we shared that they’d be opening up closer to us, in SoNo (where Pasta Nostra used to be), we nearly cried with joy. Continue reading

A reliable favorite, now with cocktails. Our review of Basso Cafe in Norwalk

26 Jan

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Since we first went to Basso Cafe back in September ’12, we’ve told everyone we meet to check it out. And, every time we’ve asked how it went, we’ve heard great things back. That’s just the kind of place Chef Renato Donzelli runs.

But, we were starting to feel like posers, recommending the place to everyone, even though we haven’t been back since. We know, bad food bloggers! So, when Basso Cafe went from a BYOB only establishment, to a full-on bar, we figured that was the perfect time to get back there and try their creative cocktails with some friends. Oh, and eat, because, you know, it’s always good to eat when downing large quantities of liquor. Continue reading
