Picture yourself here…what, you’re dunk already?

That’s right, tickets to one of our absolute favorite beer fests in the tri-state, Harbor Brew Fest at The Ball Park @ Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, go on sale June 21 starting at 9 am.  Tix are $40 for GA ($50 at the door if any tix are left) and $60 for the Brewer’s Special, which gets you in an hour early and gives you access to a special tented area for exclusive and rare tastings.  You can also get your tix at Harry’s (they help to make this festival so freaking awesome!) in Fairfield.

9/20: mark it down!

9/20: mark it down!

If you went last year and thought they had an amazing selection of craft and local beer, then prepare to be blown away. Seriously, brace yourselves. That’s cuz this year on 9/20 from 12-5 (1-5 for GA), there will be over 100 breweries on hand!  And, whereas there was one giant tent filled to the brim with CT breweries down on the field, prepare for more on that green green grass!

4b or not 4b, that is what we question… 4b Festival, New Haven

24 Mar

4b Festival Collage New Haven OmNomCT

Beer, bourbon, bacon, and BBQ. What’s not to love about this combination?  Needless to say, when we found out about this Digital Surgeons event that was coming to New Haven, we were all over it…and apparently so was everyone else because both sessions sold out fast!  Not only did we buy tickets, but as bloggers of all awesomely edible things, we also shared some of the vendors that would be there, and even interviewed David Salinas, organizer of The 4b Festival.  That was back in December…now let’s fast forward to March 22 for the event.

After we waited in a fairly long line to park, we made our way over to the venue. It was a bit of a walk but we didn’t mind because it was a beautiful day out. Even though we got there a few minutes before the 12-4 session started, there was a HUGE line that wrapped around the parking lot like a sinister slithering snake. Because we were given press passes, we were able to go right into the Press/VIP entrance, get our IDs checked, and head on in, but we had friends in line and felt awful for them and everyone else because we knew it was going to take a while to get through that line. This is where things began to get ugly…

It would seem almost too good to be true.  A festival devoted to not only beer and bourbon, but also BBQ and bacon.  Well, we suppose that we’ve all died and gone to heaven because, YES, the 4B Festival is hitting The Nutmeg State and The Elm City!  This festival is the first of its kind here in CT and will take place on 3/22/14 at The Old Trolley Barn.

Hey Paesano! Going to Cars and Cannolis 2013? Fuggetaboutit!

24 Oct

What?  There’s a festival that not only features classic and custom cars, but also celebrates the amazing Italian all-in-one meal of cannolis?  Fuggetaboutit!  Actually, it’s the 4th Annual Cars and Cannolis and it’s going down this year on 10/26 at McLevy Green in Bridgeport from 9-4 pm.  Admission is free, but entry for cars and bikes for the show is just $5.  If entering, please arrive by 9 so that you have time to register so that you can show off your car.

The first reason to go is checking out all the classic and custom cars and bikes.  You’ll also be given the chance to vote for the People’s Choice winner and there will be other trophies given out by car show judge, George Dragone of Dragone Classic Motorcars.

Georgetown Day brings community together through food, fun, and music

28 May

Georgetown Day becomes bigger and better every year, picture from http://georgetownct.org

The village of Georgetown is nestled right where Redding, Weston, Wilton, and Ridgefield meet.  One of our favorite restaurants in the area is Bistro 7, a farm to table restaurant that has been pulling in some rave reviews (like ours and Local Food Rocks).  And, one of the restaurants who will be providing food this year, Luca Ristorante Italiano, is another on our must-eat list.  But, believe it or not, there’s more to life and a village than just food.  Yes, that’s hard to believe, especially coming from two food bloggers.  So, let’s tell you a bit about Georgetown Day, this year on June 9 from 4-10 pm on Main Street.  Don’t worry, we’ll talk about the food, too…
