Thrice Baked: DiMare Pastry Shop Opening in Downtown Stamford

DiMare Pastry Shop, home of the ever-famous and supremely-delicious Cannoli Dip, is setting up shop in downtown Stamford soon. Like their other two locations in Stamford and Greenwich, they’ll be serving up cakes, pies, breads, nearly every kind of Italian pastry that you could imagine, and more.

We caught up with DiMare Pastry Shop last night at the Chocolate, Dessert & Wine Lovers Evening and asked them about the plans to open. They are very excited and think that they’ll have a big impact in downtown because of baked goods that they’ll be able to offer, filling a major void. They shared that they are in the planning and development stage right now with an artist’s rendition (above) being the first clue as to what we can expect.

Buddy Valastro from Cake Boss Bringing Carlo’s Bakery to Greenwich

So, there have been some massive moments of awesomeness over the past few years in terms of food in Connecticut.  One was the announcement that Dinosaur Bar-b-que was expanding and stomping down in Stamford.  And, then there’s this major announcement:  Carlo’s Bakery is expanding from Hoboken, NJ into Greenwich, CT!  Yes, this is the same Carlo’s Bakery from the TLC show, Cake Boss.  Each episode shows Buddy Valastro (THE Cake Boss) and staff putting together redonkulously crazy cakes that ordinary people could only dream of.  Cake Boss quickly became one of the most popular shows on television and, we argue, was the first show to truly fuel people’s love for food TV.  And, being on TV didn’t hurt the bakery either…lines stretch down the street still and people make the pilgrimage from all across the country just for a chance to have some cake and pastries.
