Sink Your Teeth into Half Full Brewery’s 3rd Annual Halloween Bash

22 Sep

We’re giving you notice way in advance here, so take advantage of this:  10/25 from 5-10.  Set it aside for an awesome Halloween party that just so happens to include lots of beer.  That’s when Half Full Brewery in Stamford will be throwing their 3rd Annual Halloween Bash which serves dual purpose as their 2nd anniversary celebration! Like last year, Oh Cassius! will be back, and did we mention that there will be beer? Yup, they’ll have at least 8 of their brews on tap open to you all night long including their nummy Pumpkin and their Rum Pumpkin, too! They’ll have their life-size Jenga out for playing and will also have a tent so you can sprawl out and have the best time ever.  In addition to all the games, music, and beer, you’ll also get your own trick-or-treat bag filled to the brim with awesome Half Full goodies such as cozies, pint glasses, key chains, and stickers.

Holy Cowabunga Dude! Totally Rad Food Truck Hits Fairfield County! Gnarly.

5 Apr

Update:  after a year of serving food, Cowabunga made some serious upgrades and made over the menu.  Check it out here!

Sup dudes?  When you’re done shredding some waves you’ll wanna check out Fairfield County’s newest food truck, Cowabunga Food Truck Grill and Soft Serve.  Their motto?  “Surf’s up, so chow down!”  Chow down on what you ask?  We’re talking lots of goodies from the grill and lots of soft serve ice cream.  The truck is the brainchild of Benjamin Boger who actually started with his own ice cream truck and business in Miami, Ben’s Ice Cream Truck.  Now, you could imagine how popular ice cream is down there.  Especially when you party in the city where the heat is on, all night on the beach till the break of dawn (points if you get the reference).  One day he hit up the Food Truck Roundup and he was blown away by how awesome food truck food could be.  He joked that these aren’t the kind of food carts that he was used to seeing in New York City.
Inspiration hit and he knew that he wanted to create a food truck that would show off his love of ice cream, but would also pump out some great food.  He found a gnarly 1993 step van from a bread distributor, packed up all his things, then headed back north to his homestate…Connecticut.  And now, we have Cowabunga!

Nomworthy Bites, Halloween Edition, Volume 3: Drinks, Parties, Costume Contests, and Braaaiiiinnnnnnsss

21 Oct

From invite e-mail :) So cool…

Have you ever looked at something closely and noticed that there is a pattern to things?  Yeah, we’re talking serious Rain Man stuff here.  We noticed one, two, three, four, five, and more Halloween events going down in the area.  So, we gathered up our sources, jotted down the info, and let the fur fly.  It’s essential to attend these events dressed to kill…especially if you’re a zombie, vampire, glittering vampire, wear a black porkpie hat and call yourself Heisenberg, or Grimes from The Walking Dead.

Do you have any great, food-related Halloween happenings going on around Fairfield County that you’d love for us to add?  Comment here and we just might add it to the post.
