Here at OmNomCT we take our events, deals, news, and weekly guide to CT beer pretty seriously. Like, so seriously that we gather and pick through hundreds of items to bring you the biggest, the best, and the freshest things to eat and drink in Fairfield County and beyond. Just a note, we tend not to repeat items that we’ve already covered so as to not waste your time, but you can always see last week’s news items, our beer fests post, and our choice of an additional 6 Halloween bashes

10/22 The Bee Foundation (bringing brain aneurysm awareness) is hosting a special guest bartender event from 6-8 at Gallo Restaurant in Ridgefield. The bartenders for that night are Susie Mendizabal and Hoodoo Brown’s own Chris Sexton. They’ll be donating 10% of all drinks right to TBF and will also be selling raffle tickets for $20. CT Food News: Over 10 dishes to try, food trux, Oktoberfests, going pink + CT beer – 10/8/15

Normally we have a top-heavy list of events, followed by food to try and news, then plenty of CT beer news and releases, but this week it’s a bit different. There are a TON of dishes and drinks that we think you need to get out there and try. So, um, get out there and try! And, please don’t forget to tell people that you found out about them from OmNomCT.

10/8 Meat us at The Meat Truck at Premier Subaru in Branford from 11:30-1:30 and then Two Roads from 3:30-8.

10/10 Guten grog, Part Deux at Cottrell Oktoberfest from 3-6 right at Cottrell Brewery in Pawcatuck. $5 gets you in the door and, from there, you buy the beer and you buy the brats.

CT Food News: over 30 things to do, eat + drink for the next two weeks! – 9/11/15

So, people: chill. Summer goes until September 22, so stop saying that summer’s over. And, with the crazy amount of events, deals, special events, brunches, and beer goodness, it’s clear that summer’s alive and well. This is really an amazing list this week and we hope that you get to do even do a 1/4 of the things that we’ve planned out for you here. As always, help us spread the word, pass this along, and if you’re making a reservation or learn about something great because of us, let the restaurant or organizers know.

CT Food News: Food Trucks, Tastings, Fairs, Cowboys, Openings + CT Beer – 8/21/15

This week’s gonna be a humongo news post because we’ll be away next week in Cape Cod and Portland, checking out the food and drinking scene, checking out lighthouses by bike, and just chilling. So, we’ve gone ahead and stuffed all the great stuff going on and news here in the 203 and beyond into this here post. As always, thanks for reading!

8/21 Pimpinella will be tearing down the rooftop beer garden at Bobby Q’s in Westport starting at 9 pm. Come for some bbq and brews and soak up the summer air.

8/22 A five-course “Nose to Tail” farm dinner from Chef William Carbone of Dish Restaurant will take place right at the Killam & Bassette Farmstead. The meal is $100 dollars with all of the proceeds going to the Judy Lynch Memorial Scholarship Fund which goes to a Glastonbury senior based on community service and work ethic.  Continue reading

8/7 Happy Hour has been reinvented at Westport Playhouse starting at 6:30 today for anyone under the age of 35. For just $25 you’ll get a Happy Hour party, bites from The Spread in SoNo, frozen custard samples from Shake Shack, live music from PJ Pacifico, a chance to win dinner for two at Bartaco, and your ticket to watch Love & Money at 8 pm. This is just about the most killer deal ever. 

8/7 The Danbury Farmers’ Market is back in action from 11-5 at Kennedy Park. They’ll have plenty of farm fresh veggies, fruits, meats, and even baked goodies.

4/23 Upper Crust Bagel Company in Darien will be hosting a Live Music and Local Art night from 7-10. In addition, they’ll be serving wine, beer, and small bites.

4/24 Kris from Foolproof Brewing will be on hand at Harry’s in Fairfield for a beer tasting from 4-7. Come back on Saturday for a wine tasting from 1-4 that includes Village Wine.

CT Food News, Vol. 23: Cheese Month, OktoberYES, Garlic Ice Cream, Beer, Trux + More

Aside from the recent rain, we’ve had a beautiful start to fall here in Fairfield County. So, it’s only right to take advantage of fairs, festivals, and events that are taking place outside. The weather is just right…not too hot, not too cold…just right. Maybe keep those Uggs in your closet. Actually, on second thought, throw out your Uggs.  Yeah. And after you throw them out, check out all the great things going on in the 203 and beyond!

10/4 Java Westport will be donating 15% of all sales on World Animal Day to International Animal Rescue. They help to rescue and rehabilitate suffering animals. Drink up, eat up, and put up…

10/5 The Beer Garden SoNo’s Oktoberfest has been moved from 10/4 to 10/5 due to the crazy rain that we will be doused with. To make it up to ya, they’ll have a HUGE screen where you can watch football, drink brews, and chow down on some food. 

10/5 Going to Sunday School was never this awesome…LUXE Modern Wine & Cocktails in Westport will be teaching you all about the perfect wines as fall hits us. Stop in or call up (203) 349-5039 to reserve your spot. Tix are $40 per person.

CT Food News, Vol. 11: Burgers, Lobster, Beer, and Cocktails…Yeah ‘Murica!

Although the USA might have lost that soccer game, you can’t let that stop you.  So, crawl out of that hole, get out there, and do something great this long weekend.  We’ve got some ideas for ya, of course, so stick with us kiddos…we’ll get ya there.  And, remember that we’ve got a full listing of events up on our Nomworthy Events page.  

Celebrate

What says ‘Murica more than a burger, fries, and a beer?  Yeah, nothing!  So, why not get down to Versailles in Greenwich, and order their Bistro V Burger with hand cut fries and a nice cold brew for lunch OR dinner for just $16.50.  This is going on all month, people.

Now, those burgers are totally American, but how about lobster?  Get your fill and don’t be shellfish by heading out to any Rizzuto’s (Bethel, Westport, Stamford, West Hartford) for a Lobster Feast every Tuesday for the entire summer.   You’ll get a 3 course lobster feast for $29 per person…and if you’re super hungry, throw in a second lobster for just $10 more.
