A few months back we wrote a post, asking restaurants to help take part in a brand new kind of restaurant week: Food for Thought Restaurant Week. Well, look here good people, it’s just around the corner now. The premise is that you go to one of the participating restaurants in Connecticut or Rhode Island for any meal between 1/24-1/30, bring the printed donation coupon, eat out, and 10% of your bill will go to The Salvation Army! What’s better than a restaurant week? Well, yeah…restaurant weeks, as in two
weeks in a row. This gastronomical extravaganza begins on Sunday, 2/24 and
goes until Sunday, 3/10, so that’s a total of 15 days of steals and deals.While
there are some classic Downtown Stamford choices, there are also some new
restaurants involved this year such as Bar Q, Hudson Grille, and Rodizio Grill
for you to try.Like we just did for Darien Restaurant Week, we’re putting our
ratings next to the restaurants that we’ve been to in order to help you make
some choices. :)Need more incentive to go? The first 3,000 nomers will get
a voucher for a free medium popcorn when they purchase a ticket at the Avon
Theatre (good until 5/31/13).  Also, if you see an * next to any of the
restaurants in the poster above, they are offering healthy and nutritious
lunches for $6.95 and dinners for $9.95 as part of the Kids’ Fans 5-2-1-0
program put on by Stamford Hospital.

Explore Stamford Restaurants with Eating Stamford: Uptown Restaurant Week

Rizzuto’s is new to the dining scene, so why not try them out during Eating Stamford: Uptown?

Stamford Restaurant Weeks are great and are a major highlight of the year for eaters.   But, believe it or not, there are tons of great restaurants outside of Downtown Stamford that you might not have tried.  Some of these restaurants are actually on the top of our lists for different reasons.  Leave it to The New England Culinary Group to come up with a nice alternative,  Eating Stamford:  Uptown.

The good times will go down from 5/14-5/18/2012 and will not only feature prix fixe meals, but will also feature special food offers.  Another nice deal is getting a 15% off gift certificate that you can use at ANY participating Eating Stamford:  Uptown restaurant from 5/20-6/13, Sunday-Wednesday.  So, if you tapped into the 52 different drafts at Coalhouse on 5/15, you could check out Madonia a week or two later and save 15% percent.  Pretty sweet deal.

Stamford Downtown Winter Restaurant Weeks 2012 Heats Things Up

Leave it to Stamford to spice up the whole restaurant week thing into something great.  Yeah, well, you read the title correctly:  Stamford Downtown Winter Restaurant Weeks.  Weeks!  Yup.  Start eating February 26 and don’t stop until it’s March 11.  You’ll be able to try out 30 of Stamford’s best spots for diddily squat.  There are three price levels, starting at $10.12 lunch/$15.12 dinner, $12.12 lunch/$20.12 dinner, or $20.12 lunch/$30.12 dinner. Also mark down March 18 to March 23 for Stamford Uptown Restaurant Week.  We’ll update you when we get all the goods. ;)

If you’re looking for some info on some of these spots, we’ve reviewed Volta, Capriccio, Grand Burger, Lola’s, SBC, Bar Rosso (when it first opened), napa & co, Tappo, and Zaza Gastrobar, but we’ve been to most of these spots.  We’d love to try out Aria and Patrizia’s, so these two weeks would be perfect.  Is that crazy that those two and one other restaurant on the list are the only ones we haven’t eaten at?  Well, guess it’s not that crazy.  What spots do you want to hit up?  Let us know if you need advice, k?
