Popping up on April 20 from 5:30-9 at elm in New Canaan is a special dining experience that brings together two of CT’s best and most celebrated chefs. Chef Luke Venner of elm won’t have to come very far for this collaboration, but his former executive chef at Millwright’s in Simsbury, Tyler Anderson, has to travel a bit. But, that road trip will be so worth it . . . and will be so worthy of you taking a trip, too. For an entire year, talented mixologists throughout Connecticut have fought hard to make the best cocktails at Plan B Milford’s Iron Bar competitions.  And, through their skills 12 of them have made it to the final stage:  The Iron Bar Gala.  One winner will prevail, win $1,000 in cash and get a trip to Kentucky with the Plan B crew!  

You definitely won’t want to miss this event at Plan B Milford on 3/26/14 at 8 pm.  Seriously, don’t miss it…especially because the final test is bourbon themed using Willett Pot Still.  Tix are just $60 (plus tax and tip) and you get a helluva lot for your dollar, too…an abundance of hors d’oeuvre, 2 drink tickets, samples of all cocktail entries, a chance to vote for the winner, and mingle time with the celebrity judges.

Two Chefs, a Food Critic, and Farmer Named to Connecticut Magazine’s 40 Under 40 List for 2014

Each year, Connecticut Magazine works on creating a list (with the help of readers) of 40 people who are the “Best and brightest among Generation Next.”  On the “40 Under 40” list you’ll find producers, directors, activists, musicians, teachers, motivational speakers and even some recognition for the culinary world in CT.

First up is everybody’s favorite food reviewer, Daym.  You might remember Daym Patterson from his hilariously awesome videos where he’d review some burger joints like Plan B on his YouTube Channel, Daym Drops.  And, yes, that led him to land his own TV show on Travel Channel called “Best Daym Takeout.”  Awesomeness!
