Open House Party at The Schoolhouse at Cannondale + Their Famous Pies – Wilton, CT

23 Oct

A Scotch egg from Tim Labant of The Schoolhouse at Cannondale, made at the Greenwich Food & Wine Festival

Celebrating five years in business, The Schoolhouse at Cannondale is holding an Open House.  At quite a steal of $65 per person on 11/20 from 7-9 pm, you’ll get hors d’oeuvre, cocktails, desserts, and will even get to take part in decor workshops.  Because they are in the mood of celebrating even more, they are also giving out their own original recipe book for you to take home for yourself!  There are only 50 tickets to this exclusive event, so make sure to e-mail openhouse2012@schoolhouseatcannondale.com with your name, number of seats needed, and your telephone number.

You should also e-mail holidaypies2012@schoolhouseatcannondale.com with your holiday pie orders and pick them up at the event.  Just in time for Thanksgiving…just saying.  Here are the ridiculously amazing sounding choices available to you:

Apple Cider Pie $30.00
Apple Streusel Pie $25.00
Pumpkin Pie $20.00
Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie $40.00

Now, let’s face the 500 lb. gorilla in the kitchen.  If you’ve been following us since the start or are just rabid OmNomivores, you might remember we didn’t have an amazingly favorable review of The Schoolhouse at Cannondale back in early 2010.  That being said, we have seen Chef Tim LaBant at two events and his cooking has really inspired us and has made us change our minds about our first experience.  First, we saw Tim cooking up some amazing food at the Whole Hog fundraiser for Wholesome Wave.  Well, we didn’t just see, we ate.  We might have eaten twice, too. Then, we saw him just a couple of weeks ago at the Greenwich Food & Wine Festival cocktail party on Friday.  As far as we can remember, this was the first time that we ever had a Scotch egg.  Unfortunately, if we ever have them again, they probably will never live up to what Chef LaBant created.

We plan to head back to The Schoolhouse at Cannondale for another dinner after tasting these amazing dishes…the Open House might just be a great chance to do that.   Then again, a full, all out, four coursed farm-to-table dinner isn’t too shabby of any option either.  Yeah, that ridiculously delicious.
