Every year we look forward to a massive event that helps us get through winter. No, we’re not talking about football: we’re talking about the Chocolate, Dessert & Wine Lover’s Evening! This year is the 8th year . . . and it will definitely prove to be even better than the rest!
The action is going down on February 4 from 6-9 at the Stamford Marriot Hotel & Spa with all proceeds going directly to Shelter for the Homeless. There will be over 70 different dessert, chocolate, food, and adult drink vendors on hand to help ya warm up. In addition, there will be entertainment and tips from host Chef Plum, music, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and even chances to shop for Valentine’s Day gifts for your precious little love. Tickets are $45 per person or $80 if you buy them in pairs: perfect for a Valentine’s Day treat. Continue reading
“I always wanted to draw,” Chef Bill Taibe of The Whelk shrugged off, “but I couldn’t.” When he discovered his love of cooking and went to school, he realized something great: “This is my art, this is how I draw.”

It’s lead him to branch out from owning leFarm, to then opening The Whelk, and then to opening up Kawa Ni with his brother Jeff–three AMAZING restaurants! And although he recently sold leFarm to Chef Brian Lewis, he’s not done with his evolution and experimentation. Continue reading

We already have September 18 at 7 pm blocked off on our calendar because that’s when the 5th Annual Connecticut Chefs Challenge goes down! Fairfield County’s best chefs will be competing at Lincoln Culinary Institute in Shelton to take him the much-coveted “Best in Show” title. What’s great is that when you attend, you get to taste everything and vote along side a guest judge panel. Tickets are not on sale yet, but you’ll soon be able to find them here and a portion of the sales will go directly to The Optimus Foundation that helps to construct and maintain medical facilities throughout the 203 for communities that need the support.
