5/21 Local SoNo is hosting BeerBQ tonight for their 1 Year Anniversary! They’ll have slow smoked ribs and a crazy lineup of brews for you to down including Dogfish Head 61 and 120 Minute, Goose Island Ogden and Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout, Bluepoint No Apologies, Heavy Seas Phantom Ship, and Founders Centennial. 5/22 We reported earlier about the food trucks that will be at The Beer Garden at Shippan Landing, but a new one’s been added: Have a Ball! And, you shall . . . 

5/22 (and additional dates) Check out Westport Country Playhouse for their Playhouse Happy Hour. Buy a ticket for one of their performances for $25 and you’ll have access to their happy hour with food and drinks, music, and prizes. The Happy Hour begins at 6:30 and the performance begins at 8. Ages 18-35 only.

5/28 Aji 10 in Norwalk is hosting a Grand Opening celebration from 4-6 with live music and more.

5/29 The Rowayton Farmers’ Market opens from 12-5 in Pinkney Park. 

5/30 The beer garden at Bobby Q’s in Westport opens up today with FreeRide laying down some major tunes!

6/6 The Shelton Farmers’ Market opens on Saturdays from 9-1 and Wednesdays from 3-6:30. This will continue all the way until November.

6/6 Pat McGee will be performing at B.J. Ryan’s in Norwalk starting at 8. 

Babaloo in Wilton has Taco Tuesdays where you can get 3 tacos and a margarita for just $15. Now that’s a real deal. 

Restaurant Updates and Help Wanted

Want an easy way to get around to and from Paloma and/or Dolce in Stamford? Take the complimentary water taxi by calling up Captain Frank at (203) 219-2673. Hours are Th 5-11, F 5-12, S 4:30-12, and Su from 4:30-11. 

NewCanaanite.com reports that the successful Pop Up Park in New Canaan will be around from  the end of school up until Labor Day. Get some food from Station Eats or any of the other great restaurants nearby and hang out, enjoying the day. 

Lugano in Greenwich is looking for help before they open and Saugatuck Craft Butchery is looking for line cooks for their dinner service.

Warm Grape Falling at Miya's Sushi in New Haven ConnecticutPearl East has relocated to 323 Hope Street in Stamford. They plan to reopen by the end of May. If you remember, Pearl East was the victim of arson months ago. Best wishes in their reopening!

Sean Nye has left his Bar Manager role at Match in SoNo to join l’Escale and Artisan as their Beverage Director.  

Stop by Elm in New Canaan to check out their new food offerings, their new chef, and the new art that they have up from Arden Surdam. 

Miya’s Sushi in New Haven got some major props from VP Joe Biden during his commencement speech at Yale. 

Mackenzie’s in Old Greenwich has new owners and will be moved down to 148 Sound Beach Avenue according to Greenwich Time.

6/20 Welcome Hapa Food Truck to the Food Truck Rodeo and Music Festival at Mill River Park in Stamford. That makes16 food trucks that will be on hand.

Beer

5/21 Come down to Local in SoNo from 4-8 for Long Ireland Pint Night! You’ll get $1 off all pints (Raspberry Wheat, NoFo Farmhouse Ale, and Summer Ale) and you’ll get to keep your Long Ireland pint glass, too.

The mash Kent Falls Brewery from Facebook Page5/22 Kent Falls Brewing is releasing their Field Beer Spelt and will start hitting store shelves. 

5/30 Outer Light Brewing Company will hold its opening from 12-5 for tours, samples, pints, and growler fills. You’ll be able to check out their 4,500 sf brewery and taproom and drink from the following brews: SUBduction IPA, Lonesome Boatman Ale, Libation Propaganda Coffee Stout, Royal Sea Saison, Swell East Coast Lager, The Academy German Pale Ale, Outerweiss Hefeweizen, and Admiral Lubin’s Imperial Pilsner. Damn, all those brews right out of the gate. Outer Light is located at 266 Bridge Street in Groton City. 

6/4 Coalhouse Pizza in Stamford will have a Bottle Share event from 5-11.

6/5 Cottrell Brewing Company will be extending hours up until Labor Day, so get your drinking pants on. New hours are Sundays from 12-5, Fridays 3-7, and Saturdays from 1-6.

6/6 Saint Maron Church in Torrington is hosting their 5th Annual Suds for Saints Beer Tasting Fundraiser. Tickets for unlimited tastings from 25 different breweries such as Harpoon, City Steam, Hooker, and Captain Lawrence cost $22.50. Food will also be there and available for purchase. 

8/30 CT Hops for Hope is a brand new brew fest that you’re gonna want to attend. Trust us. 

Chill, it’s okay. New England Brewing might be closed for 1-2 weeks, but it’s going to be great when they reopen. That’s cuz they’re putting in more taps and making things more, well, Gandhi-like. Get your last growler fills by 4 pm this Saturday . . . or else you’ll have to wait. 

You’ve checked out the beer garden at Two Roads now that it’s open, right? Duh.

Still Hill Brewery in Rocky Hill recently had their Special Permit approved by the zoning board. One stop closer to opening day!
