CT Breweries: Extended Hours + More for Thanksgiving Week

25 Nov

Beer is definitely approaching a renaissance here in America and especially in the fine ol’ Nutmeg state. So, it’s only fitting that more people will have beer at the Thanksgiving table than in years past. And, with so many new styles and so many new breweries to choose from, it’s easier than ever to get a little bit of local flavor at your holiday table. Making it more easier-est are CT breweries that are extending their hours or helping you deal with the vile disease known as Black Friday.

Here’s a list of breweries that will be open with special releases, events, and hours (if you have additions, let us know):

Beer’d Brewing, Stonington

The Beer’dos will be open from 4-8 pm on 11/26 so you can get your fill for Turkey Day. In addition, they’ll be open Friday from 5-9, and Saturday/Sunday from 1-5.

Black Hog, Oxford

Regular hours, but plenty to drink from 12-7 on Wednesday (UPDATED), 2-7 on Friday, and 12-6 on Saturday.

Broad Brook Brewing Company, East Windsor

Check ’em out from 1-8 on Wednesday to get your pre-Thanksgiving fill.

Firefly Hollow, Bristol

Firefly Hollow wants you to get lit (responsibly) with them on Thanksgiving Eve from 2-10. Take down some pints and take away some growlers. And, if you want, get started with your fills today from 12-7.

Half Full Brewery, Stamford

Open 11/26 from 12-8 with a free pint with every growler purchase from 12-5. They’ll have their regular brews, the last dregs of their Pumpkin, and full pours of Winter Wheat Ale and the Lorca collabo known as Chocolate Coffee Brown. Come by from 5-8 for their Open House, too, featuring Bounty Food Truck (Updated)!

New England Brewing, Woodbridge

Here are a few awesome things to be thankful for: Fuzzy Baby Ducks, Gandhi Bot, and a special bottle release that all started yesterday and continues today from 3-7. They’ll also be open from 11-7 on Wednesday, but they’ll probably kick the FBD today. Still, you need to get some first tastes of Coffee Breath and their Blanche, fermented with Brett in white wine barrels. Bottles are $10 each with a 3 bottle limit. They’ll also be open from 11-4 on Saturday (not Friday, updated).

OEC, Oxford

7 taps are open with 8 special bottles for sale today from 4-8 pm plus they’re open, as usual, from 12-7.

Powder Hollow Brewery, Enfield

Sip on some beer from CT’s newest brewery! They are open today from 3-9, Wednesday from 12-10, Friday from 12-10, Saturday from 12-10, and Sunday from 12-8.

Relic Brewing, Plainville

Relic will be debuting their The Huntsman Double Coffee Stout bottles starting today from 4-7. Also check them out from 12-6 on Wednesday, from 4-7 on Friday, and from 12-4 on Saturday.

Shebeen Brewing, Wolcott

They’ll be open from 9-9 today (Updated), and 12-7 on Wednesday. They’ll have their Double Rye Porter but also a Bubble Gum Ale Cask (?!), and Turbo IPA. They’ll also be open from 2-9 for Black Friday and normal hours on Saturday along with visits from some local food trucks.

Stubborn Beauty Brewing, Middletown (New!)

Stubborn Beauty is opening Wednesday from 4-8 and will be pouring out Nummy Nummy, Consummation (limited edition), Panzerfaust, Kommandant Lassard (best beer name EVER!), Australopithecus, Porter Justice, Prompt Peeper, and Night on the Sun. They’ll also be open from 4-8 on Friday and 12-5 on Saturday.

Thimble Island, Branford (New!)

The boys from Branford will be releasing their Russian Imperial Stout on Black Friday, so you’ll want to get on that one from 12-8 (Updated)! Thanks to Biff for the info! They are also open today from 12-8 (Updated), Saturday from 10-8, and Sunday from 12-5.

Two Roads Brewery, Stratford

Two Roads is open today from 12-9 and will feature live music starting at 6. Drink up, growler up, and chill out. They are also open from 12-9 on Black Friday, 11/29, and from 12-7 on Sunday with growler fills stopping at 5 pm.
