The faithful were lined up early on March 23, 2013 for a shot…a chance at fortune. No, they weren’t waiting for Bieber or One Direction: they were waiting for Two Roads Brewery in Stratford to open at 9 am. The occasion? The first ever sale of Igor’s Dream, an Unorthodox Russian Imperial Stout that was created as a tribute to Igor Sikorsky. And it didn’t take long for the 25 oz bottles to sell out, either. 1,000 bottles (count them, one freaking thousand) sold in just three hours. Damn.
After that, people who didn’t get their taste of Igor’s Dream (us included) yearned after that brew of legend like only true beer lovers could. Well, we’ve got some great news for you! Igor’s Dream, part of the 2014 The Road Less Traveled Series, is touching down at Two Roads on 1/25 starting at 9 am.
25 oz. bottles of Igor’s Dream will be selling for $20 (same as last year) and will undoubtedly sell out quickly. There are only 1,980 bottles for sale with a three person max, btw. Igor’s Dream 2014 will also be on tap in the tasting room, but won’t be available for growler fills. Don’t be greedy now! In addition, if you get there early you’ll have the chance to snag Igor’s Dream 2013 that has been aging for a year. Say whhhattt?
While you’re there, you can meet both Igor Sikorsky Jr. and Nikolai Sikorsky, sons of Igor. Meet them, greet them, and you might even have them sign your bottle! Once you’ve snagged your bottle, head outside for some major munchie quenching with nomtastic food trucks: Caseus, Cowabunga, Firehouse Grill, and Fryborg.
And, like it said in our title, we’d like to congratulate Two Roads on expanding their sales to all five boroughs of NYC. That will begin mid-February. Amazing…only open a year and a month and look at that…
