Igor's Dream 2015 Labels Two Roads

For the third year in a row, Two Roads Brewery in Stratford will host Igor Day. This is a holy day for beer lovers here in CT (and beyond now) when Two Roads releases one of their most popular beers, Igor’s Dream. The beer, an Unorthodox Russian Imperial Stout, is in honor of Igor Sikorsky who helped to modernize air travel, has an airport named after him, and whose company is still making state-of-the-art helicopters. Think of it as Two Roads way of paying homage to not only the man, but also their roots to the community of Stratford.

Line for Igor's Dream in 2014

The line for Igor’s Dream last year went by smoothly, but there was definitely a wait. Yes, there was a slight line on the brewroom floor, too.

You can get your highly-coveted bottles of Igor’s Dream by coming by the brewery on 1/24/15 as early as possible. Doors open at 10 am with the first bottles going on sale at noon. If you’re silly enough to think that if you get there at 10:00 and you’ll be first on line, you’d be wrong . . . we went last year and got there around 10:15 and the line was already wrapped around the tasting room and down to the bottom of the stairs at the entrance. Get there early, seriously, if you want a chance at some bottles. If you’re not so concerned about snagging bottles, Two Roads will be opening up the taps at noon so you can get all three variations of the 2015 versions with 10% of all bar sales going to the CT Air and Space Museum of Stratford.

Ah, the end of the yellow brick road! Don't worry about the signs saying cash only. There's also a credit line. Cash does speed things up, though...expert tip.

Like last year, Igor’s sons, Igor Jr. and Nikolai, will be on hand as well as Brewmaster Phil Markowski to sign your bottles. If you plan well and bring a friend along (a smart idea), then you can check out The Buzz Truck that will be selling coffee and breakfast from 7-11 and for your lunch and dinner needs check out Bodgea Taco Truck and Firehouse Grill.

We can’t say it enough, if you’re serious about getting a bottle, make sure you get there early. Look at our beer swag from last year, for example. Now we have this nagging problem: when do we open them? :s
