Lots o’ food trucks!
PopShop Market is back for some more awesomeness here in 2014 and their biggest and baddest spot ever: The Shops at Yale! This one day free event on 4/27/14 from 11-4 pm is a continuation of a series of events that PopShop Market has held in Fairfield and New Haven Counties, featuring an excellent variety of personally curated vendors.
Not only will you be able to find whatever you need to get ready for spring, there will also be a ton of food options from some of CT’s best food trucks for you to make your own lunch/brunch. And, who doesn’t like to get a bit saucy during the day? Of course ya do, it’s the weekend and you’ve earned it. So, get ready for PopShop’s Signature BarCar that will feature spring-inspired cocktails and a CT brewery. Details on this haven’t been revealed yet, so make sure to like them on FB and follow them on Twitter to get first dibs on the info.
But, we do have some info about some of the vendors and let’s just say it’s gonna rock:
Food
Bodega Taco Bar Truck: what can we say but HELL YES? Bodega is starting off things right with a trip into New Haven to supply all your taco, burrito, and Mexican food needs!
Dough & Co: they’ll be offering up their famous chocolate chip cookies, other cookies, brownies, and cupcakes that are all made from local ingredients.
Maddy’s Food Truck: this Stamford-based food truck will be up in New Haven, serving up some dishes with Caribbean flair.
Lobstercraft: CT’s best lobster roll, no doubt. We can’t say enough great things about these guys.
The Local Meatball: hey, paisano, check out Mike DiStassio’s balls. They are juicy, at times spicy, and full of flavor.
Fruit Whirled: how sick is this? These guys are normally found in New Haven in their bicycle smoothie cart. They make smoothies for you right on the spot and use “pedal-power” to mix it up. Delicious, nutritious, and good for the environment too! :)
Carrot Top Kitchens: they’ll be featuring james, jellies, chutney, hummus, and their most popular item…pickles. Really, how can resist the power of the pickle?
Fryborg: no kidding here, the best fries we’ve ever had on a food truck. Tons of ketchup and topping options. Plus, they have lots of other choices and even great soda flavors, too.
NoRA Cupcake Company: um, duh. Cupcakes! What else has to be said?
Mo Green Juice: take the healthiest, most nutrient and vitamin laden herbs and veggies, juice ’em up, and put them in a very cool mason jar with a handle. Flavors include Fennel, Broccoli, Carrots, Watercress, and more.
Mango Tree: Northern Indian food with a variety of dishes including plenty for vegetarians.
Whey Station: grilled cheese is awesome, so go crazy and order a few different kinds at PopShop. Hey, we ain’t judging.
Garden Fresh Baby: this spot is for the littlest of our readers who are on the lookout for the most nomworthy baby foods made with fresh and pure ingredients.
The Buzz Truck: a brand new food truck, expect coffee, tea, and (yes!) espresso! There is a focus, also, on using locally sourced breakfast items such as baked goods. At PopShop Market they’ll be featuring the organic roasts of Shearwater Coffee Roasters of Trumbull.
