We’ve written about a ton of restaurants, events, breweries, and we’ve tasted hundreds and hundreds of brews, but we seem to get a rare feeling from time to time. It’s the kind of feeling like we’re in the midst of something great. That we’re going to watch something amazing happen. Well, that’s exactly how we felt when we first talked with Barry Labendz of Kent Falls Brewery last February. Just a few weeks later, Dan met up with Barry and Headbrewer Derek Dellinger at Coalhouse Pizza to taste some first sips of their brews. Kent Falls Brewing to Headline Beers at the Beach on July 16 – Calf Pasture Beach, Norwalk

Ken Tuccio of Welcome to Connecticut Podcast held his first Beers at the Beach yesterday right at Calf Pasture Beach. It was a nice turnout and there were just enough people to make it feel busy, but not too many to create crazy long lines for beer and food. Speaking of beer, Aaren and Precious from Beer’d were there and brought some friends: Whisker’d Wit, 5.2%; 8 Days a Week, APA, 6%; House Divided, DIPA, 8.4%; and Get to the Choppa, Imperial Amber Ale, 9.1%. It seems that there was a consensus with everyone we talked with about two things:

1) 8 Days a Week was citrusy, bright, and the best of the night.

2) We just liked to say, GET TO THE CHOPPAAAAA!
