BEER!

Harry’s is not only a sponsor of this great event, but Renzo (beer god extraordinaire) helps get all the breweries there!  We love Harry’s!

Ah, such lovely songs have never been heard before.  And, chances are, you’ll be singing beer’s praise quite a bit at the 2nd Annual Harbor Brew Fest at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport.  While the event isn’t happening until September 28 from 12-5, tickets are going on sale next Friday, 6/21.  Get your tickets fast because last year’s event sold out part of the way through the event, and you’ll definitely want to get your hands on one of the very limited Brewer’s Special tickets (see the ticket descriptions below).  See, now that’s why you need to get yourself in gear and make sure to get your tix right away on the 21st.  Now, let’s go through why this year’s event is going to be even better and more successful than last year’s:

After checking in, Kristien contemplates what to order at Fryborg food truckFood Trucks

Like last year, there will be food trucks.  If you were at the first event, you might remember long lines and food trucks running out.  Well, it’ll be better this year because there are more options available.  More options=more food=smaller lines=happier beer-filled people.  We’re talking Fire Engine Pizza Co., Super Duper Weenie, Melt Mobile, LobsterCraft, Fryborg, Cowabunga Food Truck, Aurora’s Gypsy Cafe, and Farmboys Smokin’ BBQ.

Harbor Brew Fest will feature lots of local beer and breweries.  Plus, you can expect some other very popular breweries to be pouring off samples from kegs, so start prepping.  Right now they plan to have more than 50 different breweries represented.  We’ll update this list as we get closer to the event.   Plus, feel free to contact our buddies Renzo Kian-Kubota of Harry’s at harrys@snet.net or Kelly Scinto at kellyscinto@gmail.com if you’re a brewery and would love to rep your beer at HBF.  Or, say you’re free that day and would love to help out…let either of them know!

Entertainment

There will be plenty of music throughout Harbor Brew Fest, too.  The most awesomely named band in history will be taking the stage and filling Harbor Yard with some killer tunes…THE ALPACA GNOMES.  See, we love alpacas.  We love gnomes.  So, putting both together is perhaps the best thing in this world…next to beer of course.

Professional and trained staff provides an environment and special care that allow children to have fun-filled and diverse experiences while encouraging development of their social skills, self-confidence and independence. It is their goal to continue the important work of discovering and developing each child’s individual strengths and abilities.  For additional information, please call (203) 292-6949 or visit their website at harborlightfoundation.org.”

And here is some other important info from the site for you, too:

The Rules

No one under 21 will be permitted inside the stadium. Event staff will check everyone’s IDs before walking through the front gate. Unfortunately no four-legged animals will be permitted. No outside beer tasting mugs; no worries, ours are super cool and with each ticket purchase you receive a free tasting glass!

Drink Responsibly and Stay Safe

With an emphasis on beer appreciation, Harbor Brew Fest is a place to discover and taste a variety of different beers. We do not promote over-consumption so pace yourself. Anyone found to be intoxicated will be removed from the premises.

Before you arrive at the festival, arrange for a safe ride home! Discounted Designated Driver tickets ($10 per ticket) are available for anyone who wants to “take one for the team” and attend without sampling the beers. Can’t find a designated driver? The Metro North train station is a 5 minute stroll away. Additionally, there will be taxicabs available outside of the stadium throughout the day.

Awesome, I’m glad you waited, Blues Views was a limited menu. We’ll be going all out this time: elk, wild boar & venison burgers, stews, wraps, and more. Going to be a blast!
